They were found by a dog, who sniffed them out, and that was the only way they could be found, because as you can tell, in the next photo, there is no way to see them, even if you are standing right next to them.
These magically sniffed out Killdeer eggs were visited by all in the land, and carefully observed day after day, until the Killdeer momma became trusting of the children and no longer flies away to scold from a tree, but just hops a short way away in the grass and soaks up with pride the admiring comments of the family that cares for the sheep, on the big hill, on the little farm, where the eggs were found.
