We went to visit a friend who has an organic dairy cow, to make cheese. I would have to say she is a true dairy princess! We made our own cheese wheel to take home, but she also gave us enough tips and inspiration to get us started on a lot of projects. We tasted homemade cream cheese (absolutely delicious!!!) and a wheel of cheddar that was made in December. (She ages her cheese for two months.) The children made hay bale forts in their barn, in between the interesting stages of making the cheese. There is much waiting! They all came home with full tummies and hair full of hay. What a perfect day!
